What A Treat

I've been busy and lazy and I broke my phone (with which I do all my photos and blogging) but look, I discovered these pictures that I saved a while ago and never added text to!

After my very first week of Actual Work, which seems forever ago now, I met my fellow grads (hello if you're reading!) for drinks:

Then I went to the Allawah Hotel for some drinks with my non-work friends! (Thanks Blake for driving me there.)

And a $12 schnitzel, which was excellent.

Emily was there too (hi Emily!), and between us we got six cocktails, two shots and two jugs of beer all for free. (Thank you very much to the guys who hooked us up with all these!)  Needless to say, it's my new favourite pub.

That same weekend I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Hazelhurst with James's family.  I don't remember what all these things were now but they were all tasty, you can get the deets from my Instagram (see sidebar on left) if you really want them.

And we had dinner the next night with James's sister and her fiance (now husband) - thank you for having us!

And in another news my Cookie Recipe post got 24 comments from bots so I am moderating comments from now on.  But you can still comment anonymously so go nuts!

Enjoy your weekend everyone xx

Justin and Melissa's Wedding

Last night I went to a wedding! It was brilliant. The bride looked beautiful like Scarlett O'Hara, the ceremony was lovely, the best man gave an excellent speech and the reception was loads of fun.

Four Days, Fifteen Snaps

On Friday I treated myself to sushi for lunch, since I'd been so busy decluttering all week and there were no leftovers at home anyway.

It was pretty good!

I also decluttered some belts:

Once upon a time I had a hanging rack thing on my bedroom door for stuff like dressing gowns and scarves, but we had new doors put in a while ago and the rack doesn't fit any more.  I moved my scarves to the wardrobe and hung my dressing gowns from the picture rail on the wall behind the door.

I used 1980s-style ornate picture hooks because I just have such good taste when it comes to interior decorating.

This went on for a while but on Friday I realised I thought maybe, just maybe, I could hang the whole hanging rack from the picture rail.  And as it turns out, I was right!

I chucked the pink dressing gown because it's scruffy now and I retrieved this vintage nylon number from a storage box.  It doesn't have a hanging loop so I put it on a hanger suspended from one of the picture hooks.  I love storage solutions!

On Saturday Jim brought me some flowers.

Then I went to my Nana's place to pick up some trifle, and when I got there look what she was doing:

Reading Expect Cowgirls!  And having Happy Hour.

Hello Nana if you're reading!

She had some Christmas decorations up too.

Here is the trifle:

Yum!

Afterwards I went to my cousin's place for a BBQ.

On Sunday I went to the pub for Ben's birthday.  Happy birthday you lemon!

Meg looked so good in her Summery maxi dress:

FF looked nice too:

Just kidding, that's Emily! Could've fooled me though.

I had one of these lovely cocktails.

It was called a Russian Rose but it tasted quite like a cosmo. Tasty

And when I came home look what I found:

Festive! Thanks Mummy!

On Monday I made my usual lunch:

A handful of rice crackers (these ones are Peckish brand, try them!), a tin of tuna, thirty grams of cheese.  It is a quick and easy but super tasty lunch and I love to eat snacky things because it's like being on holidays.  Kind of a bogan antipasto.  And good news if you're on a diet, because if you buy the light tuna like I do this meal will only have about 1000 kilojoules.

Speaking of diets, that night Jim and I had dinner at the $3.50 sushi place in Cronulla then went to San Churro in Miranda for dessert because I'd had churros on my mind for days.

He had the sundae:

Naturally I had these:

They were so delicious! I'm pretty sad that adults can't get the kids' churros anymore though, they are a much easier serving size, and cheaper of course, but the best bit is they come with sprinkles!

Anyway what have you all been doing, anything?

Dinner at Nana's

I figured out how to keep posting photos! For any other bloggers who are having this problem: I invited another user to join my blog, which was actually just myself on my other email address.  Then I signed out of my blogger app on my phone and signed back in using the new email.  Each account has its own Picasa web album, so now I can upload another 1000 photos from my phone before I have the problem again.

Then I will need to make another email, which is kind of a pain, but maybe by then I will have figured out a better solution anyway.

In the meantime, here are some pictures from when I had dinner at my Nana's house last week:

She made Shepherd's Pie, my favourite, and it was delicious.

There was dessert too:

Yum!

Here's an old photo of Nana with my Grandad Ken:

Aren't they glamourous?

Thanks for having us for dinner Nana!

18th Birthday Dinner at Sealevel

On Sunday my family and I celebrated Betty's 18th birthday at Sealevel, a favourite restaurant of ours in Cronulla.

We started with cocktails: a Pineapple Mojito for Betty and a pomegranate, cranberry, lemon and mint concoction called Simply Pink for me.

Betty didn't like hers that much  so I swapped her.  I thought it was good, but the Simply Pink was better.  It was probably the most delicious beverage I've ever tasted.  It's going in the Official List.

Entrees included squid, pork belly, scallops and beetroot ravioli. All were excellent.

The ravioli looked like Devon but I promise it didn't taste like it at all.

Mains included beer battered perch with chips, snapper, and steak with fancy onions and some delicious mashed potato stuff.

The waitress who served us was great too; very friendly and funny but still professional.

We got there early enough to enjoy the spectacular view of the ocean as well. I didn't get a photo but I really think you should all go there and sea for yourselves (boom boom).  They have midweek specials, function packages, very reasonably-priced breakfast options and a hectic seafood platter too.

It was a fantastic dining experience about which I have absolutely no complaints.  Even their bathrooms are nice.  The only thing I'd change is maybe having a giant Simply Pink fountain on every table.  Thanks Sealevel!
