I handed in my final essay on Friday evening. After five years, I've finished uni! (Well, assuming I don't fail anything this semester, fingers crossed!)
Since then I have been chillin' like a villain, reading magazines, watching Modern Family, eating a lot and hanging with my buds. It is lovely and relaxing, and now that I have all this spare time I will be blogging all about it so stay tuned!
In the meantime, the highlight of my day today was coming home from work and turning on the telly just as they called Obama's reelection (hello Mr President if you're reading!). So pleased!
The lowlight was seeing that there were so many young women among Mitt Romney's supporters, some of them so devastated by the rights and freedoms that will be available to them for another four years that they were in tears.

World's Largest Roundabout
Hello from The Nation's Capital! I'm here for Easters 2012, an intervarsity debating competition, and so far it's rad.
I'm here with James and nine other people from uni, including Ryan (hello if you're reading!).
The university has put us all up at the Clifton Suites.

James and I are sharing an apartment with some nice people from Bond.

We have a double room with an ensuite, which is pretty snazzy.

It was super freezing yesterday so I wore jeans, merino jumper, boots and a coat, plus obviously some layers underneath. I was still pretty cold.

Last night there was a social event organised at The Hellenic Club. When we got there all the tables were full, but the line of students was huge and there was a 90 minute wait for food.

So the UOW contingent jumped ship and went to some place called London. Guys, it was awesome! And thrifty! Their menu is basically fifty burgers and beer.
I had a Beef Swiss burger - $13 - and it was SO GOOD. At first they lost my order so they gave me a FREE cider, but I only waited a few more minutes for the food anyway. Winning! If you're ever in Canberra you should go there.

Today I'm at ANU adjudicating some debates, pretty exciting. Tonight there is a roof top party feat. punch, can't wait!

Minimalist March Day 5 and 6
Monday was my first day back at uni. In my first class we were asked to list our personal observations of another culture, then told that these were all judgemental because they weren't prefaced with 'from my own observations'. Deep. But James is doing it too, which we didn't realise til after we both signed up, so that's fun!

My second class was fun though, the tutor is an old hippie and I sat next to a guy who was on MasterChef. I got a bit excited about this, I think I have embarrassed myself.

I was wearing my cosiest Witchery cardi and Kmart leopard print scarf.

For dinner I had the yummiest tandoori chicken salad with haloumi. Afterwards I tidied my desk and bedroom and did some decluttering.

On Tuesday I went to work in my trusty black dress and a leopard cardi from SES.

I didn't have time to make a sandwich so in the interests of thrift and sodium I took noodles. They were beef rendang flavour, not as nice as regular beef.
Dinner was better: a lovely spud!

At home I printed all my uni stuff, did some reading and watched an old Western called The Searchers for one of my classes. We were meant to watch one of our own choice too. I saw True Grit last year; that'll do.
This semester, as a thrifty minimalist, I am not buying any stationery. I found this Tweety folder circa 2002 when I cleaned out my old school stuff recently.

I did buy a Barbie desk calendar for $2 in the Sales though.

I think it will be a fun semester!
