• Cosima De Vito (from Australian Idol Season 1, 3rd place) buying seafood from the shop outside Franklins in Miranda Westfield
• Ada Nicodemou in Myer at Miranda Westfield
• Some football guy in my street when I lived with my parents. I think it was Paul Gallen but I don't remember. I do remember that James got super excited.
• Delta Goodrem dancing in Kit and Kaboodle, after what I'd imagine were quite a few beverages. You can read about that one here, if you're so inclined. Chris Lilley was out that night but I missed him. But then...
• Chris Lilley eating dinner at a little old-school Italian place in Bondi. He was with a curly-haired guy who was also a bit famous but I can't remember his name. Sorry curly-haired guy! Alex? Chris?
• Cheyenne and Tahyna Tozzi going to preschool, many years ago when I went to the same one. They didn't want to play with me.
• ETA: Ex-politician Greg Combet, walking down the street in The Rocks last night. Thanks Emily for pointing him out to me.

Faux Fuchsia

Remember the time I saw Delta Goodrem at Kit and Kaboodle?  Remember how I was ridiculously excited? Remember how I said I am never starstruck like that normally?

 

Turns out I lied, because yesterday I got a comment from my favourite blogger Faux Fuchsia (hello FF if you are reading! I hope you won't think I am a nutter now!) and I just about died. I texted Emily immediately, in caps lock and using more exclamation points than strictly necessary, even though it was after 1 am.

 

Actually it wasn't really immediately - I needed a moment to calm down before I could text.

If you're interested you should really check out Faux Fuchsia's blog.  If you like Expect Cowgirls (or even if you don't) you will "luff" Faux Fuchsia, it is also of the photos-of-food-and-other-things-I-like variety except that she is about three times funnier than me and eighty times fancier, and gardens a lot, and rambles less. I've been meaning for ages to write about the blogs I read, and FF's is absolutely my favourite.

Fur Elise

A couple of weeks ago was Lara's birthday and I was supposed to go to Kit and Kaboodle to celebrate.  I love Lara and I love Kit and Kaboodle so I was pretty pumped!

Some of the other girls were also going to K&K the same night, so we met up for dinner first at Thai Passion in World Square.

It was all really yummy, and since it's BYO we took some trivia wine too.  Unfortunately though I left my lipstick behind!  So sad.

Meg's grandmother recently gave her a mink coat that she wanted to wear out, so naturally I joined in.

As is often the case, I swear it's less blurry in real life. 

I do have a fur (I think it's faux but it's very classy) that used to belong to my Nana (hello Nana if you're reading!) but this mink jacket is a hand-me-down from a family friend's daughter's dress up collection.  I've had it since I was a kid, but this was the first time I wore it out.  It's a bit big, but it was SO warm.  I only had on a short-sleeved knit dress that is actually meant to be a long top (classy) and opaque tights, but I was extremely warm all night.

I did feel a bit silly at first, but that ended when I met Lizzie Lovette, who I used to listen to on the radio, and she said we looked glamourous.  Then a tourist stopped us and asked whereabouts in Sydney she could buy fur jackets like ours.  Stuff like that doesn't usually happen to me so I was pretty excited.

We made some friends:

Then we stopped for a quick beverage at this swanky old fashioned place called Eau de Vie in Darlo.  Our fur coats felt right at home.

And naturally we stopped at King's Cross Maccas for a Happy Meal.

Finally we made it to Kit and Kaboodle, but I couldn't find Lara anywhere!  I thought maybe I got the wrong stamp so I even walked down to the door and checked with the lady about the guest list and she told me I was on the right level.  Maybe everyone had left already and gone somewhere else?

Lara I am really sorry that I somehow dogged your birthday!  I feel really bad!

...I still had an awesome night though.

My Weekend With Delta

Last weekend we went out to King's Cross for Amy's birthday.

We ate delicious Mexican food and drank margaritas at Barrio Chino. We evaded a drunk stalker (hello if you are reading!) and spotted Chris Lilley at the Kings Cross Hotel. We drank Sours (mine was Amaretto; it was nice but I didn't love it) at the Backroom and listened to a DJ play the same six songs on a loop.

The best fun was when we went to Kit and Kaboodle. I thought the music was brill and so did Delta Goodrem. Yeah that's right, Delta was in the house!  Hi Delta if you're reading!

I missed Chris earlier in the night but I have seen celebrities before, including Cosima DeVito, Wil Anderson, most of the cast of Home and Away and a few sports guys whose names I mostly forget. Shannon Noll used to shop at our IGA. I never get excited, I just think 'oh that Home and Away girl's at this party...right near the dip! Yum!' and go about my business.

But you guys, I was SO EXCITED about Delta. I don't even know any of her songs after Innocent Eyes (did she even have any songs after that?) and I find her a bit annoying on The Voice, getting confused about intellectual property and whereabouts the vocal cords are located, but I was just like ZOMG DELTA!!!!!!!!!!!!! and kept trying to see her through her entourage. Seal wasn't with her, which is a shame - but then, imagine how I'd react if I spotted someone of whom I'm actually a fan.

My dress is from Kmart. I went a bit The Nanny and wore it with leopard heels from Loeman's, I mean Target.
